This event will highlight how mental health challenges impact young people based on stories that they have shared. Did you know that 50% of all lifetime cases of mental illness begin by age 14? 1 in 5 young people experience a mental health challenge. Let's work together to increase awareness, decrease stigma and provide more support for them.
NAMI Merced County is starting online Connection Recovery Support groups using the ZOOM Video Conferencing platform.
NAMI Connection Recovery Support Group is a free, peer-led support group for any adult who has experienced symptoms of a mental health condition. We also welcome any adult currently experiencing hopelessness, stress, depression, and anxiety as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants will gain insight from hearing the challenges and successes of others. Trained facilitators who've been there lead the support groups.
NAMI's support groups follow a structured model to ensure that participants in the group have an opportunity to be heard and to get what they need.
